Emerson College has the following job opening for a Lab Systems  
Administrator in Information Technology:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Lab Systems Administrator's responsibilities include: Administer  
and maintain servers for use with lab work station management,  
software licensing, and databases and online services; Manage and  
maintain databases and online services; Create and deploy computer  
lab build images and provide systems support, installation, and  
optimization of hardware/software configurations for computer lab  
workstations and install, customize, and monitor operating systems  
components to insure security, performance and stability; Administer  
and maintain the security and stability of lab workstations and  
resources, including providing technical support for labs, providing  
access control, maintenance and stability for lab workstations and  
equipment, managing computer security systems and maintaining high  
level of quality control for lab resources; Research and evaluate  
resources and advances in computing, including researching potential  
new technology purchases and recommending specifications,  
investigating ways to improve current systems and services and  
finding solutions for addressing curricular and administrative needs;  
and other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience in higher education, plus two years of work- 
related experience. Minimum two years of experience in Windows  
2000/2003 Server administration, Windows and Macintosh. Experience  
administering 200+ workstations in a multi-OS environment, Symantec  
Ghost, Mac OS 10.4, Mac OS Server 10.4 (Workgroup Manager,  
NetInstall), Windows Scripting, Windows Update Services, Basic Unix  
(for Mac OS X) PHP, and JavaScript preferred. Prior experience with  
Windows XP, Windows 2000/2003 Server administration, Active  
directory, Group Policies, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL Server  
2000/2005, Sysprep, Web server administration, Cold Fusion, HTML, CSS  
and database management is highly desired. Web server administration  
and database development experience highly desired. PC Macintosh  
technician certification is desirable. Communication, project  
management, problem solving and organizational skills are essential.
