Hi there,
I was interested in reading about your copyrights enquiry.
Normally your college screenrights agreement should cover the "on air"
recording (check this with your admin), however I am not sure about the
conversion from analogue/DVD into a digital file (Mpeg1 or 4) for that
implies making another copy of the recording which could then not be
covered. I tend to advise teachers to write to their corresponding
channels.

In the line of this subject, I am getting more and more requests from
teachers relating to capturing 'archive' audio & video from web radios
and TV channels. I would also interested be in hearing experiences about
copyrights with regard to that.. for use in combination with other more
conventional course material + restricted to students of that course
only...
Thanks!

Hello from SHSU.

A German professor here is asking for access to free television (cable)
or satellite programming in German. Available content will be taped
or downloaded digitally and saved for use in German language classes.

I will have to contact the stations and make sure there is no threat of
copyright violation, so contact information (if handy) will be
appreciated

Thanks,
