Director of the Language Lab
Academic Year Appointment
The Director of the Language Lab, reporting to the Director of
Academic Technology Services, is responsible for the language
laboratory and supports faculty and students in equipment usage in
the laboratory and in the Gailor Hall classrooms. Support for the
faculty includes researching, acquiring, and preparing instructional
materials based on course syllabi and providing instruction on the
operation of equipment. The Director also supervises, trains, and
schedules the work of student assistants, and, with the advice of the
chair of the Language Laboratory Advisory Committee, administers the
language laboratory budget.
The successful candidate will have a background in language learning
technology and methodology. A bachelor's degree is required, and
experience in teaching a foreign language is preferred.
Founded in 1857, Sewanee is comprised of a College of Arts and
Sciences, with 1350 undergraduate men and women, and a School of
Theology, with 100 seminarians pursuing masters and doctoral
degrees. The 10,000 acre campus is located on Tennessee's Cumberland
