Language Learning Manager, Freedman Center, Kelvin Smith Library (Job No 64=

The Kelvin Smith Library seeks a dynamic individual to develop innovative l=
anguage learning resources like no other on the Case campus. The Freedman C=
enter for Digital Libraries, Language Learning, and Multimedia Services off=
ers such an individual a unique opportunity to manage and operate a state-o=
f-the-art center dedicated to re-visioning learning on campus by developing=
  technological and pedagogical resources that support the study and 
teachin=
g of language. The Language Learning Manager reports to the Managing Librar=
ian and is charged with co-managing the Freedman Center, as well as develop=
ing and providing a range of services related to language learning support =
for faculty, students, and staff on the Case campus and the extended Case l=
anguage learning community. The Language Learning Manager is responsible fo=
r a variety of managerial functions, including marketing the Freedman Cente=
r and managing its day-to-day activities (overseeing the purchase, scheduli=
ng, delivery, setup, troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment, supervis=
ing student staff, managing the budget, and providing training; as well as =
assisting with development of the Freedman Center operations, which include=
s writing, editing, and maintaining policies and procedures as well as deve=
loping and deploying management software tools). The Language Learning Mana=
ger works closely with faculty, staff and students to research, develop, de=
ploy and maintain advanced instructional and communication technologies to =
support language learning at Case and to serve as exemplars for a powerful =
Case learning environment. The Language Learning Manager will be a person w=
ho is technically prepared, linguistically informed, and pedagogically inve=
ntive. Four years work-related experience in language learning technologies=
  and pedagogy preferred. Networked instructional technology application 
dev=
elopment and deployment experience in higher education preferred. Hands-on =
managerial experience desirable. Supervisory experience desirable. Customer=
  Service experience highly desirable. High school diploma required;

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent working experience and tra=
