Thanks for the ideas.

Wrapping all the shell scripts command and making sure the utf is 
converted properly looks like a lot work to trouble shoot as I do not 
normally do that.

The SuperCard idea is good, but I really don't use HC for any graphics 
or multimedia stuff. It acts as a gui really for the scripts. I have 
text fields to put in config info, and radio button's and drop down to 
help other configurations. I have code in buttons and radio buttons to 
perform their function. Most of that code makes calls to the AS 
functions I have.

Since I already have my script libraries as AS scripts, then I think it 
is time to bit the bullet and try AS Studio to put a face on these 
scripts.

I may then be able to add in some perl code libraries that I have as 
well.
