language technology specialist, since the desiderata do include

Yale University:  Director of Spanish Language Program

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese is seeking a Director of its 
Spanish Language Program. The successful candidate will have the 
experience and qualifications necessary to supervise all aspects of 
the Spanish language program, from the beginning courses through 
intermediate and advanced levels; train and supervise graduate 
students as part of their Language Pedagogy requirement for the 
Ph.D.; teach a graduate course on the philosophy and methods of 
second-language acquisition; and provide leadership for the 
approximately twenty full-time instructors who make up the Spanish 
Language Program.

The successful candidate will have native or near-native proficiency 
in Spanish as well as English; a Ph.D. in an appropriate field; 
extensive teaching experience, with documented excellence of 
performance; training in language pedagogy and experience in 
developing innovative teaching materials and integrating 
computer-assisted instruction with more traditional methods; 
publications and/or other evidence of intellectual commitment to 
excellence in language instruction and to the integration of language 
studies within the humanities. The rank is Senior Lector (three-year 
contract, renewable); appointment begins July 1, 2006. Salary 
commensurate with experience and qualifications. Yale University is
