this is weird, but mostly just annoying.
Two Mac G4 towers, both running OS 10.3.9.
Both running MS Word X for Mac v.X, installed from the same enterprise disk.
Both running Applescript 1.9.3, Script Editor 2.0 (v43.1)
On one this works:
tell application "Microsoft Word"
select text of document 1
end tell
The other gives an error.
On the first, the Word dictionary looks pretty much like always, and
contains a document class, one of whose elements is "text." On the
other, the dictionary is very different, full of detailed stuff that
looks like VBA commands, and includes "basic document," "basic
window" and other such, none of which has a "text" element.
The second machine had a demo of Word on it before I installed, not
sure what version, whatever came with the OS 10 disk, I guess. I
trashed that, but could its dictionary still be hiding somewhere else?
