Our students can sign up for a Tandem language partner with our German partner
the same way as if they were physically there though they meet with the
conferencing system.  If you have pqrtner universities with Tandem programs, I
think it is an excellent way to get things started.

We do not have a polycom video conferencing system in our Language  
Lab, but we do have a number of iSight cameras and macs set up to use  
them.  We have had successful classroom video conferences here  
between students at MIT and students studying in Valencia.  Does  
anyone on LLTI have a similar setup?  How are you using it?
