Hi Barbara,

Have you tried m3u files? I am streaming playlists using them and it
works on both Mac and PC, with the exception of IE for Mac. On the PC
the playlists open with Windows Media Player, on the Mac, iTunes.

Open a text editor and in it follow this format:

#EXTM3U
http://www.someserver.edu/path/to/file1.mp3
http://www.someserver.edu/path/to/file2.mp3
http://www.someserver.edu/path/to/file3.mp3
etc...

Save it as somefile.m3u

You don't need to use http://, full paths will work as well, but
that is trickier as the paths are different on Mac and PC, you'd have to make
2 files.

PC:
//servername/path/to/file.mp3

Mac

/Volumes/ServerName/path/to/file.mp3
(assuming the server is mounted)

Also note that SPACES in the filenames will cause all of this not to work.
If you have spaces then replace them with %20

http://www.someserver.edu/path/to/this%20is%20my%file.mp3

There are programs that will create playlits, but I just have students do this.

Good luck,

Shawn
