I didn't do a very good job of writing this:

I mean (that DSP operations results are better) when using source audio data
that is not compressed using lossy codecs.  I was trying to distinguish that
type of audio from both non-lossy codec-compressed audio (not very common,
but does exists), as well as from dynamically compressed audio data.
