Instructional Technology Specialist
 
Information Technology Services (ITS) at Hamilton College has a full-time
position open for an Instructional Technology Specialist. The Specialist
must be a highly service-oriented and technically capable individual who
will collaborate with faculty in the application of technology to their
courses.  ITS is a highly-collaborative organization that is committed to
the professional development of its members.
 
The Instructional Technology Specialist reports to the Director,
Instructional Technology Support Services and works with other members of
the Instructional Support Services Team, ITS, and the Hamilton community.
The Specialist will instruct faculty and students in the use of multimedia
hardware and software in light of best instructional design practices. The
Specialist will design and conduct workshops, create training materials,
assist with the design of course assignments or projects that incorporate
multimedia, participate in desk shifts to assist student lab assistants,
faculty, and students with technically challenging projects.
 
The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, with demonstrated
organizational, analytical, and communication skills within a diverse
academic environment.  Must be able to learn new information independently
and be comfortable experimenting with new technologies and must be able to
take the initiative to reach out to faculty and students.
 
Required skills: A minimum of an Associates degree or equivalent experience
is required. Previous teaching experience, or work in supporting faculty is
useful.  Substantial knowledge of at least one of the following multimedia
technologies is required: streaming media; interactive application authoring
tools (Flash,Director), digital audio & video editing suites based on
Quicktime architecture; and graphics and publication with Adobe Creative
Suite. Must have extensive system-level knowledge of both Macintosh and
