iMovie credits are frustrating if you want to go beyond the basics.
"Rolling Credits" software ($10), from RQS software, gives you many more
options, which are easier to control.

There is a free demo download, so you could try your Cyrillic, and see if
you like the results.

GeeThree software makes many iMovie plugins, some of which improve title
options.  Their combination packs tend to cost $50.
