NetSupport School (NSS) isn't a perfect solution, but we use it and find
it works well for the things we need it for (mostly lab control
software). Jack Burston is putting the final touches on Digital
Language Lab Solutions which includes a review of NSS along with several
other digital solutions. You'll want to check it out when it's
available. In the meantime, if you have specific questions about NSS,
you can contact me.

As for the audio portion... yes it works, and fairly well, for All Call
and one-to-one (teacher/student) communications. Teachers can also just
listen. Because the audio is over IP, there's a slight delay (latency).
The majority of our instructors, however, don't even use that part (as
we thought they might) but do use it to distribute and collect
assignments, and to control what applications and websites can be used.

Hope this helps...

>Subject: LangLab and NetSupportSchool Reviews

Hi:

Is anyone currently using the LangLab digital language lab software,
and
if so, can you give me any feedback on this particular program and its
performance in the language lab classroom?

Also, is anyone using NetSupportSchool in their language labs, and if
so, do you have any feedback on its performance in the classroom?
Specifically in NetSupportSchool, I am interested in its audio
capability. Is it a reasonable software solution for a digital
language
lab classroom?

Thanks for your help.
