Hi,

We have a labs with cutaway dividers between the carrels - like a
horizontal "L" with the lower part away from the wall/computer. This allows
kids to collaborate face-face, but if they want, they can also bury their
heads forward if they want to concentrate. Works okay, but not great, but I
do like the more open feel to the space, especially when we're teaching and
the kids are not working so independently. In testing situations, we spread
the kids out so they are less distracted by adjacent muttering.
