Now that the semester is under way, we have extended the deadline for a
proposal for the Mid-Atlantic Association of Language Learning
Technology to Friday, February 18. The theme of the conference is
"Culture in the Digital Age". While we prefer proposals that integrate
the teaching of language and culture with technology, we also will have
a K-12 track with focuses more on teaching practices than on the use of
technology.

Please submit your description of a presentation about the teaching of
culture to [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask] as soon as possible.

If you are a K-12 teacher, you can make a presentation as short as 15-20
minutes about a particular practice, project, or method that you use in
the classroom (although the use of technology would be great too!).
Sessions may include hand-on workshops (up to 90 minutes) and a variety
of technologies and/or media.

Please send in your ideas as soon as possible. We would love to have a
schedule of sessions early next week so we can mail out registration
forms.

If you would like the tentative schedule and registration form mailed
(snail mail) or e-mailed directly to you, please e-mail [log in to unmask]
to ensure that you are added to the mailing list.

Lastly, do you have a suggestion of a dynamic speaker who is a great
example of the teaching of culture and language through the application
and/or use of technology? Let us know since we would love to have a
keynote speaker to launch our Saturday sessions!

Thank you in advance on behalf of the membership of the MAALLT and the
language faculty Randolph-Macon College.
