Just make sure that if you're paying out big $$ for a DVD duplicator, that
you're not doing so to make backups of commercial dvd movies: those will usually
not be duplicatable (is that a word?): unless there's "special" software
involved (by special I "might" mean "illegal") and that may not even be
applicable with the 1:7 stand alone since there's no computer involved.  If you
need to make multiple copies of DVDs being used as storage media, that's another
story.  If this is old news, I apologize.  Also, if it's wrong news, I apologize
for that as well, and would welcome corrections!

My lab needs to purchase a CD/DVD duplicator. The one I'm looking at is
an 1:7 DVD/CD duplicator made by Alera (www.aleratech.com). I'd like to
hear from anyone who are using similar equipment in your lab. Any other
recommendations (with a prize tag below $3,000)? Thanks.
