My wife is Korean, and we frequently shop in a huge Korean grocery store
named Lotte. I noticed recently that they have stacks of region-free DVD
players in their electronics section. So one suggestion would be to find
an ethnic shopping area near you and see what turns up.

I've had good luck with Bombay Electronics, though they don't carry
the
Daewoo anymore.

(They have a web pages and also sell on eBay.)

The (modified?) Philips DVD727 plays region 2 just fine.

I don't know whether it will "lock down" on a region or not: To be
safe, we
only use it for region 2.

I have heard that some "region free" players will lock down on a
region
just like the computers.

Best,
Karl
