Computer and Technology Specialist #136

Department: College of Arts and Science/German, Russian, and East Asian
Languages

Responsibilities:

Computer and Technology Specialist to assist academic departments (50%)
and to assist the Interactive Language Resource Center (ILRC)(50%)
Director, faculty, and staff in the use of technology in instruction,
research, and administration; provide assistance with computer network
interfaces and products; set up, troubleshoot, repair, diagnose and
maintain personal computers; assist in development and maintenance of
ILRC web pages.

Qualifications:

Require: baccalaureate degree; experience with Macintosh OS X operating
systems, Windows XP operating systems, Novell NetWare, TCP/IP, web
services and server administration; Unix application environments;
troubleshooting and help desk experience; knowledge of Microsoft Office
applications, FileMaker Pro; experience in an academic setting and
academic computing environments; knowledge of computer repair and
utility programs; strong communication and interpersonal skills;
excellent organizational skills; ability to work independently and
accurately. Desire: Knowledge of HTML, PHP, Adobe Creative Suite
applications, MySQL and database/web integrating, distributed computing
administration environments and replication of disk images; experience
in language labs.
