If your professor would be at all interested in very traditional (print and
audio) materials that focus on reading and listening comprehension in Bulgarian,
he might want to investigate the c. 1984 Elementary Bulgarian I and II programs
published by Foreign Language Publications & Services at The Ohio State
University (www.flc.ohio-state.edu/flpubs). These programs are to be used in
conjunction with the 2 volumes of A Course in Modern Bulgarian by Mika Hubenova,
et al. available from Slavica Publishers (www.slavica.com).

Subject: learning Bulgarian resources?

Can you recommend resources for learning Bulgarian? I have been asked by
one of our computer science professors for suggestions on how he can begin
learning Bulgarian. He asked if there were any video programs similar to
French in Action, which he studied some time back. My guess is that he
would be pleased to learn about all recommended options, from traditional
textbooks to CD_ROMs to online resources.

Thanks,

Derek
