We use wireless laptop carts in our ESL Dept. The teachers and students love
them. We have more than one cart. Each one has its own server, printer and
access port. The largest one has 36 laptops.

Basically, the teachers sign their names in a notebook for the date and time
they want to use the cart--at least 2 days in advance. They also have to
mark whether they need Internet access and how many students because our
carts have different options, so the technician will know which cart to give
them. Then the technician will plug the cart in and charge it. Then a
technician rolls the cart to the classroom. They plug it into the wall to
activate the power to the cart. If the students will use the Internet, they
also plug it into the network to activate the wireless access point. The
technician's job is done at this point.

Each laptop has been clearly labeled with a number. On one of the doors of
the cart is a big numbered chart with sleeves under each number. When the
instructor checks out the laptops to the students, he keeps their driver's
license or student ID and puts it into the corresponding sleeve. That way
we can keep track of them easily.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Peggy C. Marcy
