Do you have the localized version of Windows 2000 or the global version?
There is a MultiLanguage add-on available for Windows 2000. See
http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/DrIntl/faqs/win2k.mspx. Information about
the use of Arabic in Windows 2000 is available at
http://www.microsoft.com/middleeast/Arabicdev/IE6/wPapers.asp. There is a
Windows Arabic (101) keyboard that is activated when you switch to Arabic in
the Windows Regional Options.
Start\Programs\Accessories\Accessibility\On-Screen Keyboard.

Colleagues,

I have a faculty member who would like to be able to use Arabic in Word
for a pc running Windows 2000. She wants to be able to type in Arabic
using an on-screen keyboard display where she chooses characters on
screen with the mouse. Is she better off sticking with Windows 2000 or
should she upgrade to Windows XP? Also, if anyone has an
recommendations on keyboards/font systems to download for this, please
let me know.

Thanks, Donnie
