>Subject: Summer Technology Course in Middlebury (German)

This course is taught in German, but may be of interest to those of you
seeking graduate level courses in FL technology over the summer.

More Information: http://www.middlebury.edu/ls/

GRMN 6698 Digital Deutsch: Media Based Learning Environments for German
(3-week workshop, 7/22- 8/13*) 3:00-5:00 p.m.

A detailed overview of digital media applications for learning and
teaching German as a second language.Topics include: audio, video, image
and courseware applications used to enhance German instruction,
interactive exercise creation, and basic web design. Particular
attention will be paid to the selection and use of these electronic
materials in order to maximize their effectiveness for language
learning. Participants will collaborate on a digital learning unit and
web-bibliography that will be distributed to all participants on DVD at
the end of the course.

Required texts: Readings will be provided.

*Three-Week Workshops for Teachers and Students of German
Note: These courses address specific needs and may be of special
interest to language teachers. They are offered Monday through Friday
for approximately two hours per day and carry one unit of graduate
credit each. A three-week session at Middlebury enables German teachers
to advance their graduate studies without making a six-week commitment
to the German Schools regular session. While the stay may be shorter in
duration, participants who register only for one 3-week course still
gain full advantage of Middleburys environment of linguistic and
cultural immersion and the German Schools wealth of cultural
activities. In the summer of 2004 the German School will offer two,
three-week workshops. See GRMN 6619 and GRMN 6698 above.
