Dear All:

There has been some fairly enthusiastic interest expressed here at Brown for
getting satellite reception of Arte (see http://www.arte-tv.com). I've
managed to do some initial research, and find that Arte is broadcast in the
clear (but in SECAM format) from Atlantic Bird 3. It looks from the
downlink coverage as though we could theoretically pick up the signal from
Providence, but as I haven't heard of other institutions receiving the Arte
broadcasts via this method, I wanted to check with the list to see if:

a) anyone in North America is currently receiving Arte and
b) what the required technical setup was (2-meter dish? 3-meter dish?
special receiver for SECAM? multistandard TV?)

Many, many thanks in advance.

a.
