Dear Marisa,
I would recommend using Purevoice, a free application, and cross-platform.
It's available for free download from the Eudora website. It was developed
by Qualcomm and creates amazingly small file sizes with its excellent
compression, making it ideal for emailing files back and forth. We have
instructors using it here at UCLA for, among other things, ESL pronunciation
practice, and for online OPI interviews for Russian. The students record
themselves, email the files to the instructor, and the instructor can insert
his/her comments into the students' files and email them back.
If you want more specifics, feel free to email me directly.
Sincerely,
Annelie Chapman
