Hi Marisa,
Actually, I was going to get in touch with you soon about Lang. Lab.
setups because I'm across the street at the CG Academy! A friend of yours
at Yale told me to get in touch with you and, well, that's a story for
another time. As for your question, do you have a Lang. Lab server to which
all your machines are connected? If so, you might want to simply place a
common folder there and tell students to save their work to that folder. In
that way, the instructor simply has to go to her/his folder and retrieve the
files all at once. We're working with divace recorders and the associated
TandBerg equipment. My students just save their recordings as .mp3 files.
It's super-easy, I can put them on a CD-R and bring them home by simply
dragging the folder to the disk! Any time you want to come over, let me
know and I can give you a tour of our little place!
cheers,
alex

Dear All,

We are looking into configuring the Language Lab computers (Mac and PC) in
such a way that students can record drills, save them into files and send
them to the instructor.
I would really appreciate suggestions and recommendations from those of you
who already have this set up: what software works (or does not),
headphones, microphones etcetera .

Thank you,

Marisa
