Dear Colleagues,

I teach French and ESL at Georgia Perimeter College, a two-year
university just outside of Atlanta. The Foreign Language/ESL department
is seeking to write a grant proposal to cover funding of the
construction of a language lab on our campus. As such I am seeking to
find information from professionals in this field regarding the benefits
of the use of technology in language acquisition. How does the use of
language lab services benefit students? Which
services/applications/activities benefit students most? How can one
track/evaluate/monitor students' progress? I would appreciate hearing
any success stories with measurable results as it relates to technology
assisted language learning, particularly those related to the activities
of a language lab. I would also appreciate learning of any journal
articles that might address these issues.
