------------------
Dear Georgia & LLTI;

I've been converting the CD tracks to MP3's (with iTunes), then exporting
them as streaming QuickTime movies with QuickTime Pro, and then placing
them on a server with corresponding web pages. It works well but the
production is tedious.

We stil use cassettes in the physical lab, but we're noticing that the
students are unfamiliar with cassettes and cassette players. Sometimes they
prefer using the computers in the lab to the cassette players. We will
definitely go with a (mostly) digital system when we upgrade our lab in a
couple of years.

I've also been contemplating having an MP3 station in the language lab
where students could download MP3's directly into their iPod or Rio player.
How cool would that be?

So to answer your question, we do not burn CD's for students, nor do we
check out audio CD's.

Hope this gives you some good ideas,
Karl
