>Subject: Re: #7099 Arabic word processing

------------------
At Georgia State, we installed the international character set for Arabic for Microsoft Word 2000. So far, we haven't had any complaints about it. However, we have had difficulty getting our spelling and grammar checking tools working. We installed character sets for Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Arabic, and French, which students can "switch" between using alt+shift, but the language tools won't function properly. Therefore, students can write in Arabic all they want, but they can't check their work electronically.

We are working to resolve it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all,

Does anyone have information about word processing in Arabic with a PC? What
are some of the options? Do we need to have the Arabic version of Windows?
Is it possible with an english version of Windows as well? We also want to
be able to email in Arabic and look at Arabic websites. If you do have the
capability to word process in Arabic I would be interested to know how you
do it.

Thanks for your help,
Sangeetha Gopalakrishnan
