The International Association for Language Learning Technology (IALLT) 2003 conference is being held in Ann Arbor this June 17th through the 21st. Due to budget cuts some people are worrying about affordability. Here are
10 Ways to Make IALLT 2003 Cheaper!

1) Take advantage of early-bird discounts and register before April 15th. http://www.lsa.umich.edu/lrc/iallt/

2) Get the conference discount for travel on Northwest Airlines through Landmark Travel. 10% off of lowest Northwest fare 30 days prior to the flight, and 5% off of the lowest fare within 30 days. Contact Julie([log in to unmask]) or Diana ([log in to unmask]) at Landmark Travel 1-800-432-8636.

3) Share a room with a colleague. Don't know anyone else attending? Contact [log in to unmask] to find a roomate.

4) Make the conference an adventure and stay in the dorm. Reserve single or double rooms when you register on-line. http://www.lsa.umich.edu/lrc/iallt/

5) Plan on eating at the various IALLT events *included* with conference registration: fill up on cocktail snacks at the Wednesday reception, coffee and snacks at the Thursday morning plenary, Thursday's Welcome Lunch (sponsored by Tandberg) in the afternoon, formal dinner/membership meeting Thursdayevening, the regional groups' luncheons on Friday, and tide yourself over with snacks at the various conference breaks.

6) If you pay for the conference out of your own pocket confirm whether it is tax-deductible.

7) You can walk to anywhere you want to go in Ann Arbor from the conference. No paying for gas, taxis, or bus fare.

8) Staying at a hotel farther from campus? Talk to your hotel about arranging a free shuttle to and from the conference.

9) Relive your undergraduate glories and roadtrip to Ann Arbor with friends and colleagues.

10) Coordinate with colleagues to share transportation from the airport.

Have any questions? Please feel free to contact us at [log in to unmask] or by telephone at (734) 764-0424.

We look forward to seeing you in June.

Sincerely,

Toby Freund
