>Subject: Copyright Law: Space-Shifting

Can anyone fill me in on the status of "space shifting" in the context
of copyright law as currently understood? My questions is essentially
this: would I be within my legal rights to make one backup copy of any
given VHS in our Language Learning Center video library, but to make the
copy to Video CD instead of VHS? If so, would I be allowed to keep the
original on file, and use the Video CD as the working copy?
