Mary,

We are using a second internal drive. I am about to partition it right now, 
as several people have suggested that. I was also starting to think that 
one HAD to use an external drive, since everyone who responded seemed to be 
doing so.

The Apple knowledge base article 58640 tells you NOT to use the internal 
hard drive that came with your computer. ??? So why, you may ask, are they 
marketed as video editing machines. Hmmm.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll give that a shot and see what happens, if 
this latest trick doesn't work.
