I would also be interested in knowing about software for recording to a
pre-recorded model track. We would be particularly interested in open-source
code that allows us to add such a recording module to a web-based
instructional language site. If you don't reply to the list, please cc: me

Hello all,

Does anyone know of software that acts like a cassette deck made for 
language study like a Sony ER-90xx series deck?  In essence, software 
that can play a pre-recorded model track and have the capability of 
recording a student's voice simultaneously.

We have mostly Macs here, so Mac software is better for me, but any 
software would be of interest.
