Scott,
First of all, what a no-brainer! Common decency would dictate that your center would get at least a sentence of recognition for the logistical support you provide.
Secondly, you would do well to counter the claim that there is no precedent for such acknowledgement. Look at http://llt.msu.edu/vol5num1/sengupta/default.html and you will see a center and a person associated with the center recognized. I am sure you could stack up such examples with a little effort.
I urge you to continue to provide the support whether recognition or gratitude is ever expressed. You can at least hold your head up high and get some institutional credit for what you do.

I'm wondering if anyone can give me some feedback on this issue. I am the
director of the LRC at my university, which is a small, private liberal
arts college. I have a linguist colleague who makes use of LRC equipment,
as well as LRC office space and occasionally student workers, when
conducting research, which consists typically of videotaping face-to-face
conversations between research participants. I politely requested that I
would appreciate it if the LRC might be thanked in future publications for
supporting and helping with the research. The response I received was: "I
have never seen an article in my field that shows appreciation to a
language lab, so I would feel awkward and uncomfortable mentioning it in my
articles."
All I'm asking for is a simple gesture, some sort of professional courtesy,
to confirm that LRC resources were instrumental in facilitating research.
This recognition is important to me for several reasons, which you could
imagine but which I won't elaborate on here. Can someone tell me their
thoughts on the matter? Is it unreasonable for me to make such a request?
