I just checked AppleWorks 6.5.2 and it doesn't seem to work.
I tried with Mellel and Davanagari works with it. I mentioned Mellel
in a previous post about Unicode word processors. You can download and
demo it from here:

The word processor costs $12. I don't know why Word is so expensive. Oh
yea its Microsoft. But still...No word processor should be that
much...Still using the free WordPerfect in Classic. And I have Office X.
