------------------
Do you mean Pinyin Master 1.1? I've had a hard time getting it to run on
system 9.1. I finally got it to work by tweaking extensions. You probably
need to upgrade to version 2.0. I got this reply from Jeff Winters when I
inquired about my problems with Pinyin Master:

...Version 2.0 of Pinyin Master was released in 1998.
There are some expanded features from the version you have been
using.
It is, of course, a classic MacOS application. It runs in versions
of
OS9 and in the Classic environment of OSX. There is currently no
native
        OSX version...

We only use it at the very beginning of the fall semester so I haven't
upgraded yet. We're not using OSX at this point. You can reach Jeff at
customer_services @liwin.com

I'd be interested in hearing if you're successful.
Good luck,
