>Subject: position Dalhousie University

Please reply to the address given below, not to LLTI or to me.

The Department of French at Dalhousie University invites applications for a
full-time tenure-track appointment as Lecturer/Assistant Professor
(commencing July 1, 2003) in Applied Linguistics, with subspecialization or
demonstrable interest in Computer-Assisted Language Learning/Multimedia.
This position is subject to budgetary approval. Candidates should have a
Ph.D. or Ph.D. in hand, preferably with a strong research programme,
teaching experience and background directly related to teaching
responsibilities. The selected candidate will be joining a department of
French with solid programs in linguistics, literature and cultural studies,
and should thus have a clear and enthusiastic commitment to working in such
a broad context. Duties would include teaching beginners, intermediate and
advanced language classes, as well as developing 1st year curriculum using
CALL. The nature of the courses to be taught requires the candidate to be a
native or near-native speaker of French. The salary will be commensurate
with qualifications and experience. The deadline for applications is
October 15, 2002. Applications, including a C.V., three letters of
recommendation to be forwarded directly by the referee to the Department,
evidence of teaching competence, and any other relevant material, should be
sent to:

Dr. Raymond Mopoho
Chairperson
Department of French
Dalhousie University
Halifax, NS B3H 4P9

All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and
permanent residents will be given priority. Dalhousie University is an
Employment Equity/Affirmative Action employer. The University encourages
applications from qualified Aboriginal people, persons with a disability,
racially visible persons and women.
