If the room is available, we usually just charge a box of donuts <grin>. Actually, that is the criteria... first assignments go to our College (Letters & Science) who in essence subsidize the lab use for L&S courses. If there are time slots available after that, and only on an ad hoc basis, we may schedule non-L&S courses or programs into the lab. Good will and all that, and too much hassle to get into cost recovery (which often costs more than what's recovered!)

Good luck...

Hi all,

I've been asked to provide a cost analysis to a program from outside my
college wishing to have language lab access for one of their courses.

Do any of you provide such services? How do you compute your lab costs? Do
you use a per student or per course basis?

Any input would be very useful--either on or off list. I'd be happy to
summarize what I learn and post to the list. I searched the archives and
didn't find anything there this morning.

Thanks much,

Gus
