Manager of Language Center

Full-time, position available August 15, 2002.  The manager will have
full administrative and coordinating responsibility for the Language
Center's activities and resources, including training and supervision of
student assistants; training, advising, and supporting language faculty
in the development, adaptation and implementation of technology -
enhanced instructional materials; assisting faculty in evaluating new
software and equipment; and participating in campus-wide committees
concerning language and technology.

Required qualifications:  Bachelor's degree and fluency in a second
language, educational technology or related discipline.  Strong
organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication
skills.  Demonstrated ability to evaluate and promote the use of current
technologies for language instruction.  Knowledge of Language Center
services, as well as language learning software, hardware, and
familiarity with second-language acquisition pedagogy is required.
Previous experience working in a college or university setting and a
master's degree in a second language is preferred.
