------------------
IF you have a macrovision-disabled DVD player (some but not all of the
code-free multi-region ones are), and if the NTSC output after passing
through an internal or external converter shows the English subtitles on an
NTSC monitor, you can record what you see on a standard NTSC VCR. DVD
manufacturers don't want people to do this, as we know, but it's
technically possible though not with standard equipment.
