Hi Tom,

I am told the following programs do the conversion (unfortunately not all free):

Vegas Video 3.0 by Sonic Foundry, (www.sonicfoundry.com) and PEAK DV by Bias, (www.bias-inc.com) can convert to MP-3. Apple i-Tunes can also convert to MP-3.
