Please excuse the cross posting.

Dear Colleagues,

Can anyone explain to me how the Windows-XP compatibility manager actually
works? In testing software on XP, I've had occasion to use the manager
which I know tags programs that won't run XP. It it obviously does more
than that, however, because afterwards these same programs do run properly.
Is Windows going into some type of emulated W98 mode?

So far, the only program which I have not been able to run on XP is the
EuroTalk Advanced French DVD. If you know of any other existing W98 foreign
language software that remains incompatible on XP, I would very much
appreciate learning about it so that I can publish a listing in the CALICO
review. Thanks in advance for your assistance, Jack
