------------------
Colleagues,

We are in the process of scheduling the IALLT/ACTFL/Houghton MiIfflin
"Foreign Languages: Teaching with Technology" workshops for summer and Fall.
For those of you who are not familiar with it, this is a two-day, very
hands-on workshop that provides a rich array of software and web-based
resources for participants to evaluate and develop lessons with. Attendees
leave the workshop having created a
lesson based on f web resources, and posting it to the web.
The news this year is that Houghton Mifflin is fully supporting
hosting schools by providing free registration for up to 10 participants
from the hosting institution. This is an excellent and cost-efficient way
for a school to provide professional development to its own teachers while
showcasing its facilities and programs to teachers outside its walls. It is
also a means to introduce one's faculty to the benefits of IALLT
participation and membership-- the facilitators are all long-time and
actively-involved IALLT members including Chris Higgins, Lauren Rosen,
Marlene Johnshoy, Samantha Earp and LeeAnn Stone.
Feel free to contact me directly (not to the list) if you are
interested and/or for further information.
