>Subject: Re: #6490.11 Destinos digitization(!)

------------------
I wanted to thank everyone for the lively discussion surrounding my
inquery about digital Destinos. In addition to email, I had a nice
phone conversation with Beth Secrist at the University of Tennessee.

I have also had some great discussions with Joanne Grason. The rights
are still with Annenberg, not McGraw Hill. They are currently working
on a new digital license. They should be through with it sometime
around mid-March.

As I understand it, the new license will not be limited to one year,
rather it will extend to at least 2009, which is when their own
control of it apparently ends (or will need to be reestablished).
Also, the flat fee will be more than the $800 for both sets, but not
that much more.

I am not sure how they will handle those who have already paid an
annual fee, but I think it safe to say that they will attempt to deal
with them in an equitable fashion.

They are also considering a DVD version.

Since they are still trying to iron out the details, please wait till
mid-March before you deluge them with calls. Joanne, for instance,
will not even be in the office of a week or so.

As soon as I get more specific information, I will pass it on to all of you.

rock and roll

Scott
