My 2nd Malata 946 worked right out of the box, but note that its Dolby 5.1
requires requires multiple audio hookups. If you're only using stereo, try
just one Center & one Front jack, one right, one left. The first one
was defective, but was promptly replaced.

We also received pretty good service from DVDshippers (McCay Enterprises)
in Virginia although they seem to run out of inventory quickly & require
up to a month for new units to arrive. Our Mustek unit also worked immediately
for code-free playback of all our international DVDs to NTSC.

Both vendors are on the Web.
