Job Posting for ASO II, III, or IV/Instructional Technology Coordinator,
Foreign Language Technology Center, Wayne State University, Detroit,
Michigan.

Job Description

- Assist the Director in planning, designing, evaluating and implementing
instructional technology for the language departments in the College of
Liberal Arts.
- Manage the daily operation of the Foreign Language Technology Center
(FLTC), which includes scheduling the use of five computer lab/classrooms.
- Manage the financial activities of the Center including revenues and
expenditures.
- Manage the scheduling and operation of the FLTC's distance education
(video conferencing and internet-based) programs.
- Supervise, train, assign duties to, and evaluate full- and part-time
support personnel.
- Assist the Director in planning and implementing fundraising campaigns,
the FLTC Newsletter, and special events.
-  Evaluate foreign language software programs from publishers and software
developers.
- Design and develop web-based instructional and information sites for
various departments in the College of Liberal Arts.
- Maintain the FLTC web site.
- Design, develop and conduct faculty training for use of technology in
teaching.
- Design, develop and conduct language specific technology training for
students enrolled in language programs.

Required: Masters degree in Instructional Technology, Foreign or Second
Language Teaching, or related field. Two years or more experience in
teaching and supervision. Strong knowledge of HTML programming/web site
management. Some knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting principles and
procedures. Strong working knowledge of software, including Excel, Power
Point, and Pagemaker (or similar desktop publishing software). Excellent
written and oral communication skills.

Desirable: Fluency in one or more foreign languages.
