>Subject: #6416 Position open St. Lawrence University (again)

Hello,
Apologies for the HTML mess in my last post. Here's that message again
in plain text.

Director of Instructional Technology

St. Lawrence University invites applications for the position of
Director of Instructional Technology. A continuing long-term position,
the Director of Instructional Technology provides direction and
oversight for the instructional technology infrastructure at the
University. The Director collaborates with stakeholders across campus
to promote and facilitate the use of technology as an integral part of
the total academic experience. The Director of Instructional Technology
works closely with faculty to provide the tools and training to use
technology effectively in the higher education teaching and learning
environment. The Director oversees and will also deliver faculty
development toward these objectives.

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in learning
technologies, instructional design and development, instructional
systems technology, education, educational technology or a related
field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may satisfy
this requirement. A Master's degree in the same or related field is
highly preferred. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of current
operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite and other specific learning
technologies. In addition, candidates must have a strong background in
Internet applications such as FTP, telnet, media players, plug-ins and
browsers. A general knowledge of infrastructure requirements and
components of local and wide area networks, Internet, intranets and
distributed learning is necessary. Experience in multimedia, especially
digital video, data projection and desktop cameras, as well as the
ability to continuously update personal knowledge of cutting-edge
technology is required. We seek a partner with excellent interpersonal
skills, a proven ability to coordinate multiple partners to work
collaboratively across campus, the ability to formulate policies and
procedures and to coordinate and facilitate meetings in order to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate expertise and successful
application of educational design principles for curriculum development
in different subject areas utilizing a variety of technology-based
delivery strategies including on-line and Web-based approaches.

Send letter of application, resume, and three references with name,
address and telephone number to: Carine Ullom, Chair of Search
