>Subject: distributing instructor audio

Hello,
We recently converted from a SONY analog system to CAN8 VirtuaLab. In
so doing, we have lost an important functionality, namely that of being
able to send the audio from a VCR (or any other auxiliary source) to
each student station. Previously, students could enjoy a private
listening experience, free of the disturbances of others talking,
coughing, or crackling candy wrappers, using the SONY headsets while
watching films (videos) in the lab. In our new computer classroom/lab,
we can only send the VCR audio out through the sound system (speakers).
We'd like to have the capability to send the instructor's desktop image
to each student station and vice versa anyway, but now want that
capability to include the option of sending the instructor's station
audio (e.g., from a DVD or VCR) to each student station as well. I'm
aware of products like VNC, NetOp, Altiris, Linknet, ClassNet, and
Synchroneyes. With the exception of the last one (haven't tested it
yet), as far as I'm aware, each of these distributes video only. We've
toyed around with various hardware solutions but I think we'd prefer a
software solution if there is one. Is anyone else in a similar
situation?
Hoping for wisdom from the group,
Carine
