Dear Otmar,

I forwarded the mailing entitled Technology Grant News to a couple of
colleagues here, one of whom sent me the reply below. I thought you
would be interested.

>I researched this newsletter a few months ago. The email to the list you saw
>is actually clever SPAM. With a bit of research, I found that the person
>"Jessica Callender" actually works for the company that sells this
>newsletter. She always writes the email as if she is a satisfied customer of
>the newsletter publishers. In fact, she (if she exists) works for them. I
>have serious questions about the ethics of an organization that employs such
>tactics. This organizations has spammed many nonprofit and educational
>listservs. Their tactic has fooled many a moderator into passing it on to
>the members of even highly moderated lists. Anyway, thought I'd just let you
>know.

Best,

Sara
