Another note about accents:  If you're using WebCT on a PC, and you're
typing text, any alt + number code containing the number 4 will cause your
text editor to quit, and you'll lose all your work! In that case, you have
to use HTML codes--see Tennessee Bob's link:

So, if you want to type o with a circumflex, using alt+147 will cause a
crash, whereas &#244 will not.

Of course, on a Macintosh, there is no problem whatsoever; accents are a
breeze, no matter what the program. (I admit to a strong bias here!)
