Read,

I would point out that, on a Mac at least, Audacity itself lacks the Wav to
MP3 converter needed to export files in MP3 format.  A third party program,
such as N2MP3, is required.  Once the latter is installed, a popup menu in
Audacity allows you to send its output to that program for conversion to MP3
format.  Jack
